Specialist care for women’s hormonal and gynaecological health
Women's Health
Many young girls and women are told that painful periods, heavy bleeding, extreme fatigue or emotional upheaval are simply “part of being a woman”. They are not — and they do not have to be endured.
Kristina offers specialist acupuncture care for women’s health, working with the menstrual cycle as a vital sign of overall wellbeing. Treatment is focused, informed and individualised, with the aim of significantly improving how women experience their cycle, hormones and daily life.
Improving the Menstrual Cycle & Hormonal Balance
A healthy menstrual cycle should be predictable, manageable and not disruptive to daily life. When hormones are out of balance, symptoms often ripple far beyond the bleed itself.
Acupuncture can support:
-
Cycle regularity and predictability
-
Reduced menstrual pain and cramping
-
Manageable bleeding
-
Improved energy across the cycle
-
Reduced PMS and premenstrual mood changes
-
Better sleep and emotional regulation
-
Feeling like a different person at different points in the cycle
-
Heightened sensitivity to stress or noise at certain times of the month
-
Tearfulness or irritability that feels out of character
-
Feeling “wired but exhausted”
-
Difficulty coping in the luteal phase despite coping well the rest of the month
Many women notice not just a reduction in symptoms, but a fundamental shift in how their cycle feels month to month.
Endometriosis, Adenomyosis & Pelvic Pain
Living with inflammatory conditions such as endometriosis or adenomyosis can be physically and emotionally exhausting — particularly when pain, inflammation and fatigue dominate daily life.
Kristina regularly supports women experiencing:
-
Severe or progressive period pain
-
Pelvic, lower back, hip and leg pain
-
Pain during ovulation or throughout the cycle
-
Pain during or after intercourse
-
Bowel or bladder discomfort linked to the cycle
-
Fatigue and inflammation-related symptoms
-
Feeling dismissed or unheard about symptoms
-
Period pain that requires medication to function
-
Bleeding that interferes with daily life or work
-
Cycles that feel unpredictable or draining
-
Pain during ovulation
-
Needing days to recover after a period
While acupuncture does not replace medical care, it can play a valuable role in reducing pain, calming inflammation, supporting circulation and improving quality of life, particularly when used consistently.
PCOS & Complex Hormonal Patterns
PCOS often presents differently from person to person and can involve far more than irregular cycles alone.
Support may be helpful for symptoms such as:
-
Irregular, absent or unpredictable periods
-
Acne, skin changes or hair growth concerns
-
Long cycles followed by very heavy or painful bleeds
-
Feeling “hormonal but without a clear pattern”
-
Energy crashes mid-afternoon or after meals
-
Sugar cravings that feel uncontrollable at certain cycle points
-
Anxiety that fluctuates with ovulation or menstruation
-
Difficulty losing weight despite doing “everything right”
-
Mood changes
Treatment is always personalised, supporting hormonal regulation while taking into account metabolic health, stress physiology and individual presentation.
Perimenopause & Hormonal Transition
Perimenopause is a significant hormonal transition — often misunderstood and under-supported. Symptoms can appear years before periods stop and may fluctuate unpredictably.
Kristina supports women experiencing:
-
Heavy, erratic or changing cycles
-
Hot flushes and night sweats
-
Sleep disruption and early waking
-
Anxiety, low mood or emotional volatility
-
Brain fog and reduced concentration
-
Fatigue and reduced resilience
-
Periods becoming closer together before spacing out
-
Feeling overstimulated or overwhelmed more easily
-
Feeling constantly “on edge” or unable to fully relax
-
A sense that stress hits harder than it used to
-
Holding tension in the jaw, shoulders or pelvis
-
Feeling disconnected from the body or cycle
Acupuncture during this stage can offer meaningful relief, supporting nervous system balance, sleep quality and hormonal regulation as the body adjusts.
Specialist, Individualised Care
Women’s health is complex. Kristina does not follow generic protocols or symptom-led checklists. Every treatment plan is shaped by:
-
Your cycle history
-
Hormonal patterns
-
Pain experience
-
Stress and nervous system load
-
Life stage and health priorities
Care is thoughtful, responsive and evolves over time — with the aim of helping you feel more comfortable, more stable and more in control of your health.
